Go4BioDiv Exhibition hits World Heritage

The International Youth Forum “Go4BioDiv”, an IUCN partner, provides young adults from natural World Heritage Sites with a forum and a political platform for issues that concern them. Held at the UN Biodiversity Summit in Japan last year, the organizers are now in Paris for the World Heritage Committee along with their travelling exhibition.

The exhibition presents beautiful photo galleries and comprehensive information about 24 natural World Heritage Sites from all over the world, including the Great Barrier Reef, Mount Everest and the Galápagos Islands.

It also features young people aged 18-28, coming from these places, who present their messages on biodiversity conservation and natural heritage.

Head of Go4BioDiv, Nina Treu, explains how they decided to work together on biodiversity and World Heritage.

The exhibition was produced in the context of the Go4BioDiv International Youth Forum, held in parallel to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) summit . It was organized by the UNESCO World Heritage Centre, IUCN, the German Development Cooperation Agency (GIZ) and Tsukuba University, with the support of the CBD Secretariat.

Plans are now being put together for the next leg for Go4BioDiv. Nina Treu explains.
