Voting on REDD: Why and how should we invest in forest governance?
IUCN has just published the results from a "Cast your Vote Live" workshop held at the World Conservation Congress in Barcelona, October 2008, in which participants were asked several questions relating to REDD.

Although it was acknowledged that one REDD recipe does not fit all situations and that different approaches are needed in different contexts, participants were very clear on what must be included and planned for at the local, national and international levels if REDD is to become a viable option by 2012. The responses also highlighted that the ingredients considered most important by participants are already the focus of IUCN's work.
