‘The Water Law, Governance and Diplomacy Portal’ WaDi, launched by IUCN on World Environment Day, sets out to provide the knowledge and tools needed to create and strengthen capacities for effective governance of shared waters.    

Based on over 10 years’ experience of  implementing the IUCN BRIDGE (Building River Dialogue and Governance) initiative, the Environmental Law Centre has collated a wealth of knowledge from enabling water dialogues and negotiations. Based on best practices from every corner of the globe, the new website allows visitors to gain insights – both practical and theoretical – on how to prevent conflicts over water and ensure cooperation, consensus and peace.

Users will be able to find continuous updates on trainings, dialogues and events led by IUCN, as well as a selection of key publications, papers and articles developed to contribute to the global discourse on water diplomacy.
