Design Competition: Front cover of the State of Protected and Conserved Areas report

IUCN Oceania is holding a design competition for the image that will be displayed on the front cover of the ‘our Sea of Islands: the state of protected and conserved areas in Oceania report’, which is being produced through the Biodiversity and Protected Areas Programme (BIOPAMA).

This will be the first comprehensive review of the status and issues for area-based conservation within the region.

The prize is US$ 450.

Designs are expected to highlight the connection of people in the Pacific with nature, and will be judged on the following criteria:

  • Visual appeal
  • Uniqueness
  • Representing Pacific culture and shared identity
  • Elements of nature (both sea and land)

Citizens of Pacific Island countries are invited to submit designs to paul.vannimwegen@iucn.org by 31 August 2021.
