Centre for Environment and Development for the Arab Region and Europe

The Centre for Environment and Development for the Arab Region and Europe (CEDARE) was established in 1992 as an international organization with diplomatic status. This was in response to a call for a knowledge-based and technology-driven Centre of Excellence by Egypt, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD), as stipulated in the Damascus Convention, adopted in 1991. CEDARE's Foundational Pillars: • A high-level Board of Trustees • A diversified team of world-class professionals • A reliable knowledge base for sound and informed decision-making and actions • An expanding geographic scope and presence • A global network of strong partnerships
