China Association for NGO Cooperation

CANGO acts as an intermediary agency and partners with foreign NGOs, bilateral and multilateral organizations and Chinese NGOs to enhance fundraising, provision of technical support, and capacity building of grassroots NGOs in China. CANGO has provided vocational training of village authorities and farmer techinician with a goal to establish a rural economic development model with biodiversity conservation; built capacity of NGOs , and implemented the Integrated Artisan Development Project in Tibet. CANGO has cooperated with the Environmental Defense Foundation of USA in emission trading for the past 3 years in 8 provinces across China. In November 2004, both organizations signed the MoU for further contribution of protecting the environment in China.
