Commonland

Commonland is founded with the ambition to kick-start the development of a landscape restoration economy. With the 4 returns – 3 zones – 20 years framework for ecosystem restoration published by IUCN CEM and the Erasmus University and the firm commitment of private funders, especially the COmON Foundation, we aim to provide a practical framework to realize a transition towards an economy that is based on the restoration of natural and production landscapes, instead of on their further degradation. Commonland believes that landscape restoration offers tremendous untapped opportunities for sustainable economic development. To demonstrate this potential, we develop large scale landscape restoration initiatives resulting 4 returns businesses. Those businesses are pipelines for investors
