Fisheries Action Coalition Team

FACT is a coalition of eight NGOs, established in 2000 by a group of NGO members working on fishery and environmental issues around the Tonle Sap Lake. It was established as part of the “environment project” of the NGO Forum on Cambodia, a membership organization made up of local and international non-governmental organizations, grounded in their experience of humanitarian and development assistance to Cambodia. Given the significant need to address a wider range of fishery resources and conflicts, in both inland and marine fisheries, FACT separated from the NGO Forum in 2003 and became an independent, local NGO working on the fishery sector.
