The mission of the IUCN SSC Peccary Specialist Group is to work together for the conservation of the 3 peccary species: Tayassu pecari, Pecari tajacu, and Catagonus wagneri.
Specialist Group work
We want to do a comprehensive assessment of all peccary species populations and threats and utilize the assessments to develop guidelines and conservation strategies for NGO, governments, and local communities.
